ASCIANO
Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore
It is a large Benedictine monastery and it is the mother-house of the Olivetans. It was founded in 1313 by Bernardo Tolomei, a jurist from a prominent aristocratic family of Siena.
CASTELNUOVO DELL'ABATE
It is a former Benedictine monastery, along the Via Francigena, the pilgrim route to Rome. After many years of disuse, the abbey was reoccupied in 1992 by a small community of Premonstratensian Canons Regular. The origins of the abbey are obscure. The foundation of the original Benedictine monastery dates to the time of Charlemagne.

Cathedral and panorama
The cathedral complex includes the Baptistery of St. John and Giotto's Campanile. These three buildings are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The basilica is the largest brick dome ever constructed.
Views
It is a city in Tuscany founded by the Etruscan. It is famous for its intact Renaissance-era city walls and for the Academy of Sciences (1584).

Campo Square
Its historic centre is declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site. It is famous for the 12th century Romanesque-Gothic Cathedral, the shell-shaped the town square Piazza del Campo and the traditional medieval horse race (Palio).
