It is a Late Renaissance huge church, the burial site of Saint Peter (who was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus), one of four Papal Basilicas of Rome and probably the largest church in Christendom.

It is a chapel in the Apostolic Palace, the official residence of the Pope. Its fame lies mainly in the frescos that decorate the interior, and most particularly the Sistine Chapel ceiling and The Last Judgment by Michelangelo.
